Class of 2027 & USMAPS Parent & Cadet Candidate

In this members-only event we'll bid farewell to our Firstie parents and provide them with an opportunity to hear from an Army Colonel and Command Sergeant Major about what life has in store for their soon-to-be Second Lieutenants. Invites will be sent via email.

This event brings awareness to the True Meaning of Memorial Day. Funds raised during Memorial May provide direct support for the healing of the mind, body, and soul of our nation's Military, Veterans, First Responders and their families.

06|10 Break-in-My-Boots Road March
Time: 8:00 AM to 10:00 noon CDT
Location: Dove Park North Pavilion in Grapevine. 1509 Hood Lane, Grapevine TX, 76051
The event will be held rain or shine at the Dove Park North Pavilion in Grapevine.You must RSVP to WPPCNTX@gmail.com to receive the event instructions.
This event is for 2027 and USMAPS cadet candidates, parents are welcome too (or you can join us later in the morning at the Ice Cream Social - see below). Join us for a quick lesson on how to care for our feet before we head out on a road march. Class representatives from your 50-year affiliation class USMA 1977 will be on hand to walk with you. This is an excellent way to meet your classmates and get in a good workout.

Open to members and non-members this fun session is a chance for parents and cadet candidates to hear some final words of wisdom from USMA parents and grads, and meet their classmates. We'll even have the opportunity for cadet candidates to speak directly with current USMA cadets home on summer leave.

No formal presentations - this is purely a social event! We'll meet at a DFW location and at a Central Texas location for some food and fellowship among our parents. You can order what you'd like off the menu and introduce yourself to other parents. Suggested dress - casual! A great time to break out your West Point gear and your Texas nametag. Exact locations will be released a few days before the event.

The parade is planned for 10 am, cadets are released at different times after the parade making finding your Cadet difficult! Have them meet you at Ike's Riverside Cafe in Eisenhower Hall for Gabe's A-Day Luncheon (below).

08|TBD Gabe's A-Day Luncheon
Hosted by the West Point Parents Club of North Texas and the West Point Society of North Texas.-
This event is open to all Texas families and there is no cost. After the parade head to Ike's Cafe in Eisenhower Hall to cool off while you wait for your cadet. When they arrive, the West Point Society will announce their name (have your cameras ready!). This is likely the first time they will publically be called "Cadet" after having been called "New Cadet" during Beast. Enjoy refreshments and sandwiches before you head out to enjoy the rest of the day with your Cadet.

10|TBD "T3" Texas Tamale Tailgate
-
A yearly event led by the West Point Parents Club of Houston and supported by a $5,000 major donation from the WPPCNTX. Held at West Point, this post-game tailgate party is open to the entire Corps of Cadets and offers them a chance to sample some Texas food and enjoy some Texas-themed hospitality. If you are at West Point on tailgate day, please drop by. Tickets are available at the door for parents and families (you do not need a ticket for your cadet). Cadets eat free thanks to our club's donations!

Cadet lifec an be tough, especially as the grind of the academic year sets in and the weather begins to turn cold at West Point. We'll cheer up our cadets with some treats from home.

Boodle Boxes - The club will build 78 boodle boxes to ship to West Point.

Please bring: donations for the Lone Star Military Ball. Each year our club collects bottles of wine ($10-$15+) and $25 gift cards to donate. The wine will be part of a fundraising raffle, and the cadets attending the ball will each receive gift cards. Last year every cadet received $50 in gift cards as Army led the way in donations!

If you ordered a boodle box: our club provides boodle (snacks), shipping tape, pre-printed shipping labels, donuts & juice, and the West Point hoodie (if you ordered one), plus we will take the boxes to the post office after the event. If you can't make it, a volunteer will build the box for you!

If you did not order a box: you can still attend, just bring snacks for 24 cadets (individually wrapped if they are homemade snacks) and a medium postal service shipping box. You can fill up snacks and mail the box to your cadet (sorry, we can't mail it for you).
